Yep! That totally just happened!!!!

Have you ever met those people in life that it just seems like the darnest things happen to. Oh you know like rafting down the new river and feeling worn out after because you paddled so hard, only to realize after watching the video your paddle never even touched the water. Or how about giving a thank you speech to 65 students and fall in front of all, accidentally tagging the cute guy in a picture, waving and beeping at someone only to find out wrong person,  being pulled over by the sexy cop for going to slow ( well maybe not sexy but you get my point).  Well this is me and these things happen daily. It is to the point that when I tell people "you will never guess what happened to me today", they are not suprised!! The big stuff no longer embarrasses me but these little things sure do! I am sure throughout this journey I will have many of these "stories" to share with you.
I am brutally honest with things and although that is a good thing, sometimes people use my honesty as a way to hurt me. However, now I am in a different place and am trusting my honesty and openess will be used for good! If you know me well and at all you know that missions is something I am very passionate about and have had the desire to do for awhile now! So when this opportunity presented itself and after prayerfully considering it, I had to accept it.
So here I am now 56 days away from experiencing my first mission trip to Nicaragua! I am worried and nervous but most of all I am excited! I am excited to be helping and doing what I feel God has called me to. But I have to also be honest and say I think I need this trip as much as they need our help. I need the humbling, to see the simplicity of life, I need to find that appreciation they find everyday with so little and most of all I need to experience the feeling of joy you get from helping and serving, ( pehaps catch a glipmse of the joy our Father feels helping us). It is so easy to get so wrapped up in life that you loose these little things that I feel are important.  I know you don't have to go to another country to achieve this, but for me this is the whole package, my dream and my calling.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you and hopefully it does not end At this trip!!!!
